Suspected drunk driver slams into Blaine police squad
A suspected drunk driver is in custody after side-swiping a Blaine police squad car while an officer was conducting a traffic stop Thursday night.
WCCO says the squad's emergency lights were flashing while it was stopped on the shoulder of Highway 65 near the 125th Avenue bridge around 9 p.m. A pickup traveling northbound crashed into the side of the officer's car and continued driving.
The driver of the truck eventually came to a stop on the shoulder of Hwy 65. The Minnesota State Patrol arrested the driver on suspicion of DWI.
Neither the officer or the driver were injured.
