Taking the plunge: Wedding party falls in lake in dock mishap

A wedding party lined up for what was supposed to be a picturesque photo on a dock in Cross Lake over the weekend.

What could go wrong?

You guessed it. The dock collapsed and sent the wedding party of over 20 people into the lake just an hour before the ceremony – and videographer Megan Fritze captured the unexpected plunge on video (above).

Nearly everyone got wet, including the bride and groom, Dan and Jackie Anderson. The couple met through mutual friends, who happened to both be on the dock, FOX 9 reports.

But they were all smiles after the dock collapse, and by the time the wedding party walked down the aisle it was hard to tell anything had gone wrong, Valley News Live reports.

This isn't the first time a plunge into a lake has made for a memorable photo. In May 2013, a dock collapsed and tossed a wedding party into the murky water of Lake Lanier near Gainesville, Georgia.

In June 2012, an entire wedding party in West Michigan ended up soaked after the dock they were standing on gave way during a photo shoot.

A group of students from a Wisconsin high school fell into the waters of Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc when a pier they were standing on collapsed during a photo shoot.
