Target Corp. blames gloomy weather for sluggish 1Q sales
Our prolonged cold and snowy weather is hurting Target Corp.’s spring sales of cloths, sporting goods and patio furniture, the Pioneer Press reports.
Wall Street Journal says the Minneapolis-based retail giant is warning investors that its first-quarter earnings will likely be slightly below projections because seasonal and weather-sensitive products are weaker than expected.
Target, which opened its first Canadian stores last month, expects to release its first-quarter figures on May 22.
