Target debuts its first small-format stores
The Minneapolis-based discount chain opened its first CityTarget stores in Chicago, Los Angeles and Seattle on Wednesday, NBC Chicago reports. The new slimmed-down format is designed to cater to urban shoppers, while still featuring fresh food, apparel and electronics.
The new CityTarget in downtown Chicago is in one of the city's most historic buildings. Retail blog Racked has a slideshow of the new store.
The Chicago Sun Times also has video of the ribbon cutting. Watch below:
Two more CityTarget stores will open later this year, including another store in Los Angeles and one in San Francisco. A third Los Angeles location and a CityTarget in Portland, Oregon will open in 2013.
