Target iPad buyback program experiencing some glitches

Target customers have been finding out that Target's iPad buyback program has been causing its share of headaches.

Target has been offering $200 gift cards to customers who trade in the old I-Pads.

The Pioneer Press says Target customers have found taking advantage of the program has not been that easy. Lengthy lines, limited or nonexistent staffing, gift card shortages and shortages of the current model iPads that many want to purchase are not making it easy for those customers.

Target said Thursday the activity spawned by the promotion has exponentially exceeded typical device-trade-in-traffic, and that has led to the shortages.

Despite some of the glitches, Target spokeswoman Katie Boylan told the newspaper, "The response to the iPad trade-in promotion has been overwhelmingly positive and far exceeded Target's expectations."

The promotion was announced Nov. 3 and runs through the end of the day on Saturday.
