Minneapolis-based discount retailer Target and luxury department store Neiman Marcus will each offer more than 50 products by 24 top designers starting December 1. The limited-edition collection will be available in stores and online -- with most items less than $60.

The Minneapolis-based retailer's new website -- which struggled on its first day during the Missoni madness last month -- was down for several hours today. Target has had problems with its website since it started handling its own e-commerce support in-house.

Target teaming up with specialty shops

The Associated Press reports the retailer is partnering with owners of specialty shops to stock affordable, limited edition merchandise. Target says it will feature products from five shops starting in early May. The shops will be open for six weeks, then Target will rotate in a slew of other shops in the fall.

Target taps fashion designer Prabal Gurung

The high-fashion designs of Prabal Gurung, whose creations have been worn by Michelle Obama and Lady Gaga, will be available at Target stores next February, the Associated Press reports. The designer is the latest to plan a limited-edition collaboration with the Minneapolis-based retailer.
