The deadline to buy a present on Target.com and get it in time for Christmas is just about here.
The retailer has been offering free shipping on all orders since Nov. 1. To take advantage and still get the gift before Dec. 25, you need to place an order by 11:59 p.m. central time on Wednesday, Dec. 20, Target says.
Order before then, and the product will be at your door by Saturday, Dec. 23.
Do I have even faster options?
If you're really getting down to the wire, Target has a one-day shipping option (though it isn't available for every item, and costs extra). You have to order by noon central time on Friday, Dec. 22, to guarantee it in time for Christmas.
In-store pickup is the closest you can cut it. You can place pickup orders as late as 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and go get it that day before the store closes.
Target will have long Christmas Eve hours, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 10 or 11 p.m.
The retailer also recently rolled out a "GiftNow" button. You can buy an item for someone, then they get an email, and can make tweaks if desired – maybe a size bigger, or a different color, for example.
Only after that does it actually ship (so maybe the gift won't get there by Christmas, but the email will).
