Adrian Peterson: 'I am not a child abuser'

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said in a statement Monday that he is “not a child abuser” and he never intended to harm his 4-year-old son when he disciplined the boy with a thin tree branch, which he referred to as a “switch.”

Also, Peterson has been reinstated by the team and is expected to play next Sunday. His first court appearance in Texas is scheduled for Oct. 8.
