Victim in Soundbar shooting dies; community worries about violence

One of the nine people injured in a Minneapolis nightclub shooting last month has died of his injuries. Community leaders told reporters Dion Toney's death is believed to be connected to a lockdown at Hennepin County Medical Center and a shooting at a local gas station.

Defense attorney: Not guilty plea planned for man accused of killing officer Scott Patrick

The defense team for the man accused of killing a Mendota Heights police officer says he plans to plead not guilty. Brian Fitch Sr., 39, was in court Thursday. He’s accused of fatally shooting Officer Scott Patrick during a traffic stop July 30. His next court appearance is in October.

Hot commodity: Rochester restaurants robbed by grease thieves

Thieves in Rochester make an unlikely score, as police report five restaurants in the city have had their grease stolen. Reports say about 7,000 pounds of the stuff was burglarized over the weekend. It may seem like a strange target for criminals, but restaurants frequently sell their used frying grease to companies who recycle it into biofuels and livestock feed.

This year, holiday revelers coming to downtown Minneapolis will be able to visit the Holidazzle Village and the Minneapolis Christmas Market along Nicollet Mall. The event will include live reindeer, sales booths and wandering Holidazzle characters. Last year was the final year for the Holidazzle parade.
