The Fargo season 3 cast just got even bigger

Six more faces you'll see in season three of Fargo.

It's apparently "Fargo season three casting week."

On Monday, we learned Remus Lupin was joining the cast for FX's acclaimed drama series, joining Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Carrie Coon.

And now we've got a list of more actors and actresses that have been cast for the new season, which is set to take place in 2010 in the St. Cloud and Eden Valley areas of Minnesota. Here they are, via the Hollywood Reporter.

  • Michael Stuhlbarg – Recently from Dr. Strange and Miss Sloane, also had a role in Boardwalk Empire and the Coen brothers' A Serious Man.
  • Scoot McNairy – A mainstay of Halt and Catch Fire, as well as parts in 12 Years a Slave and Argo.
  • Shea Whigham – Roles in Agent Carter, True Detective and Vice Principals on TV.
  • Karan Soni – You might have seen him in the new Ghostbusters or Deadpool.
  • Fred Melamed – Lots of TV, including Lady Dynamite and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Had a part in A Serious Man, too.
  • Thomas Mann – Not a long IMDB yet, but had parts in Project X and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.

Jim Gaffigan is also a series regular (news that was announced earlier this fall). That keeps the series' string of casting traditionally comedic actors as citizens in the warped dramatic world of Fargo going – there was Bob Odenkirk in season one, and Nick Offerman in season two.

McGregor will play two brothers (one the successful parking lot king of Minnesota), Coon a police chief in Eden Valley, and Winstead a parolee who plays bridge.

The show, which is helmed by Noah Hawley, has won five Emmy awards and 36 nominations. People generally really like bothseasons.
