The Ice Castles will reopen this weekend

The floor had turned into a slushy, wet mess.

The popular Ice Castles in Stillwater are reopening this weekend.

The Ice Castles had been forced to close on and off over the past week because above-freezing temperatures turned the castle floor (it's made of 8 inches of crushed snow and ice) into a slushy, wet mess.

But now that the forecast shows highs in the 20s and lows in the teens, it'll be cold enough for the Ice Castles crew to get the floor back to normal so it can reopen, the Ice Castles MN Facebook page says.

The Ice Castles will be open Saturday from 4-10 p.m. and Sunday from 2-8 p.m. You can buy tickets online here.

If you already bought tickets, but couldn't go because the Ice Castles were closed, you can email to reschedule.
