The NBC reality show that aims to make mere singers into stars, "The Voice," will be auditioning talent Saturday and Sunday at the St. Paul RiverCentre. Thousands are expected to flock there for their shot at fame.

The show's celebrity judges Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine will not be in St. Paul.

The show's casting director cautions singers to be creative in their choosing of a song. Judges have heard a lot of attempts at songs by Adele, she told the Pioneer Press.

Local musician Tim Mahoney competed on "The Voice" during its inaugural season last year. Here's his song, "Hey Adam Levine."
