Eden Prairie-based 3D-printing company Stratasys inked a deal to acquire competitor MakerBot in a stock transaction worth at least $403 million. And it’s planning to add at least 80 jobs by the end of the year.
Growth in the local labor market slowed in recent months as weather-sensitive industries delayed hiring amid the extended cold weather. In May, employers added thousands of jobs as the weather turned around. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate held steady.
A German court ruled in favor of Tennant Company’s competitor, which claimed that some of Tennant’s advertising claims were misleading. Tennant, which is based in Golden Valley, is considering an appeal.
