Plans are in the works to open a second Cheesecake Factory in Minnesota.

Currently, there's only one in the state – it's in Edina's Southdale Center.

The newest one would also be in the Twin Cities area. According to this week's project proposal, it would open at Ridgedale Mall in Minnetonka.

More specifically, it'd be in the mall's southeast corner between Sears and Nordstrom.

According to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, it'd be 8,400 square feet. That's not including patio space.

There's not a lot of information out yet – but you can see the proposed plans, layouts and a bunch of photos here.

Things aren't set in stone, so there's no opening date yet. The City of Minnetonka's website says there are meetings scheduled in March and April regarding the project.

About Cheesecake Factory

The Cheesecake Factory started out in 1972 as a small, family-owned Los Angeles bakery.

Business grew and in 1978, the family decided to open a restaurant with an extensive dessert menu in Beverly Hills.

The restaurant was a success, and now there are about 200 Cheesecake Factories around the world.

Today the restaurant goes well beyond sweets. It offers more than 250 dishes, and – of course – dozens of cheesecake options.
