There's a $1,000 reward for information on who shot a yellow lab 6 times

There is now a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the person who shot a yellow lab six times.

The injured dog was found lying under a tree in rural Avon in Stearns County on Feb. 22, the sheriff's office says.

He had been shot four times in the face – "several shots" penetrated his muzzle, breaking his jaw. The dog was also shot twice in his hind quarters.

The veterinarian who examined the dog believes the shots likely came from a pellet gun.

CrimeStoppers is now offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the identity of the person – or people – responsible for abusing the dog, the sheriff's office says.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office at 320-251-4250 or CrimeStoppers at 320-255-1301 or 1-800-255-1301.
