Thieves have stolen dozens of firearms from Twin Cities gun shops in the last few months, KARE 11 reports. One Fridley story has been robbed three times in the last 15 months, including once this week.

Gun thieves have kept investigators busy this year. Thieves hit a Gander Mountain store in Woodbury last summer and stole 30 handguns, MPR reported.

ATF officials say stolen guns often end up used in crimes. Last year, more than 2,100 stolen guns (not all from gun stores) were recovered in Minnesota, although not all the guns were originally from the state, according to an ATF report.
