This week on stage: Ansari stand-up at State; Baumbach dialogue at Walker

A critically-acclaimed filmmaker and one of the stars from the hit NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation" are among the acts coming to Twin Cities stages this week.

Appearing at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis Friday is "The Squid and the Whale" screenwriter and director Noah Baumbach, who will discuss his film career in a Dialogue event with Variety's chief film critic, Scott Foundas.

The event comes a day after Baumbach's latest film, "Frances Ha," makes its area premiere at the Walker.

On Saturday, Aziz Ansari, who plays Tom Haverford opposite Amy Poehler on the "Parks and Recreation," is bringing his Buried Alive stand-up tour to the State Theatre in Minneapolis Saturday.

Ansari, who has also starred in such films as "I Love You, Man" and "30 Minutes or Less," voices a role in the upcoming animated adventure comedy "Epic," which will open in theaters May 24.
