Three of the state's largest general contractors submitted proposals for a state office building planned on the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.
The Business Journal reports that the Legislature authorized $90 million for the four-story building that will house state Senate offices and legislative hearing rooms. The winner will be announced later this month, with the building scheduled to open in mid-2015.
The three are Kraus-Anderson Construction and Ryan Cos. of Minneapolis and Mortensen Construction of Golden Valley.
The legislature also approved funding for a massive improvement and renovation project for the Capitol building itself.
