Another setback for Tiger Woods as he's withdrawn from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic because of back spasms.

Woods has undergone three back surgeries in recent years and Dubai was just his second tournament back on the PGA Tour after a 17-month hiatus.

If there's any good news coming from this it's that Woods doesn't believe the spasms are related to the nerve pain that's derailed his career over the last three years.

"Spasms are a funny thing; I'm certainly no doctor, but they come and go," Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, said, via ESPN. "And again, the fact that he feels as though it's not the nerve pain, that's very encouraging for him. He's had spasms before. He's got to get the spasm to calm down, from what I gather. He has his trainer here, which is good, and that's who has been working on him for the past several hours."

Tiger shot a 5-over 77 in the opening round Thursday and was likely to miss the cut anyway.

He missed the cut last week at the Farmer's Insurance Open.

His next scheduled tournament is Feb. 16 at the Genesis Open.
