Toby Keith's I Love This Bar abruptly closes
Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill in St. Louis Park is closed.
A locksmith was at the restaurant and bar Thursday changing the locks, KSTP's Brett Hoffland tweeted, after officially closing Wednesday night.
The country-themed spot was listed on the Minnesota Department of Revenue's tax delinquency list for not paying its taxes – this bans alcohol distributors from doing business with the restaurant if it doesn't pay within three days of being listed, according to the state Department of Revenue.
The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal notes Toby Keith's has been on and off the tax delinquency list for months.
The St. Louis Park location has been removed from the chain's website and the restaurant's Facebook and Twitter accounts have been deleted. The restaurant has also been removed from the Shops at West End website.
The restaurant's owner – Boomtown Entertainment – told the Business Journal Thursday afternoon that it is "finding out from the state what is owed and it will all be satisfied," noting it is looking for space in downtown Minneapolis to open a restaurant.
Some fans – and those not so fond of the bar – took to social media after hearing the news.
The restaurant and bar opened in St. Louis Park's West End in 2009. The chain has also closed restaurants in Arizona, California and Texas in the past year, the Business Journal notes.
