Tool promise 'unparalleled' St. Paul concert in June

Get ready for an eyeful and an earful.

Alt-metal legends Tool have included a St. Paul date in their latest batch of new show announcements.

They will perform at Xcel Energy Center on Friday, June 9.

The band's last visit to the Twin Cities was on Harriet Island in St. Paul for the River's Edge Festival in 2012, which also featured frontman Maynard James Keenan's Puscifer side project. They played the Xcel in 2010.

Earlier this month, Tool divulged on Facebook that this tour will feature an "unparalleled sonic and visual experience."

Tool recently bassist Justin Chancellor told Bass Player that the group's long-awaited follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days is in the works. "We’re pretty deep into the writing process now, and we’ve narrowed things down to big groups of ideas."

Tickets for the upcoming show range from $75 to $95, and go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 24, at 11 a.m. CST. For fans looking for a VIP experience, lots of info here.
