Tornado reported in Pope County; storms, hail pound central Minnesota

Storm system brings rain, wind, hail, tornadoes ... and snow?

The same storm system that brought deadly tornadoes to Oklahoma left Minnesota soggy but uninjured. Spotters reported seeing several funnel clouds in the air and a couple of tornadoes apparently touched down in southern Minnesota. In the northland, the storm will produce overnight snow, with up to six inches possible in some areas.

Another round of powerful storms possible Sunday

Mother nature is threatening to interrupt some outdoor Father's Day plans. The National Weather Service says there's a moderate risk for severe thunderstorms for parts of Minnesota. Large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible as the weather system moves across the state.

Southern Minnesota hit with tornado, heavy rain

A line of storms pushed across southern Minnesota Friday. The Star Tribune reports one tornado destroyed some farm buildings, toppled trees and knocked out power near Kiester. The National Weather Service says another round of thunderstorms is possible Saturday through Sunday.
