FOX 9 has the story of Inver Grove Heights garbage collector Todd O'Connor, whose trash company got a frantic call from a woman who had inadvertently thrown away a suitcase with jewelry of sentimental value inside.

That was bad news, O'Connor said – he'd already made a lot of stops, collecting 6 tons of trash. But he obliged, and using a hockey stick and his hands, he began to dig.

"It gets pretty nasty, especially this time of year," he told FOX. "Wasn't making my morning, that's for sure."

Fortunately, the suitcase was orange – and it stood out even in a towering, teeming pile of trash.

"Good thing she called when she did," the Troje's Trash man said. "It was a good deed. I would want someone to do that for me if it happened to me."
