Troopers in South Dakota, Minn. net nearly 200 in I-90 speeding sting

If you were traveling I-90 between South Dakota and Minnesota Thursday and got a ticket, take some solace that you were not alone.

In fact, state patrol sweeps on both sides of the border proved fruitful, with 188 arrests and 522 warnings during a joint enforcement on the stretch of federal highway, the AP reports.

The AP cites a South Dakota state trooper saying this is the second year of amped up patrolling I-90 between Chamberlain, S.D., and Fairmont on the Minnesota side.

For the "increased awareness" efforts, according to the AP, cops nailed one driver for drunken driving, 90 for speeding, 22 for seatbelt violations, 11 for drugs, two for stop sign violations and 26 for violations involving drivers licenses, insurance or vehicle registration.
