TV star who bought Gander Mountain buys another local retailer

He's growing his online presence with this latest purchase.

Marcus Lemonis is growing his online presence when it comes to outdoor retailers with the purchase of a St. Paul-based online outdoor retailer.

Lemonis, who's the host of CNBC’s reality show The Profit and the chairman of Camping World, bought the Minnesota-based Gander Mountain chain earlier this year.

And now he's acquiring another local retailer.

Camping World announced Thursday it's buying the St. Paul-based website TheHouse.com, an online retailer that sells bikes, sailboards, skateboards, wakeboards, snowboards and outdoor gear.

In a statement, Lemonis said buying TheHouse.com "continues our focus of an omni-channel approach."

"This new acquisition, coupled with Overtons.com and GanderOutdoors.com, continues our effort to grow our understanding of the outdoor enthusiast and furthers our strategy of continuing to diversify both in activity and demographic of our Good Sam Club member," Lemonis said.

Camping World and TheHouse.com will have distinct brands, the release says. Camping World will focus on outdoor camping and the RV industry, while TheHouse.com will continue being a place for people with active outdoor lifestyles.
