Twin Cities homeowners ticketed for watering lawn during heat wave
Officials in Twin Cities area are cracking down on lawn-watering policies during the state's heat wave. KSTP-TV reports Woodbury officials issued tickets nearly 100 homeowners who broke the rules in the last week. The city doesn't allow lawn watering from 12 to 5 p.m., but kids can play in a sprinkler all day long.

Instead of rushing to the nearest hospital, James Robbins rushed to the nearest computer to watch the birth of his baby boy thousands of miles away, WCCO reports. Robbins is a former marine who is currently on assignment for the Department of Defense in Kuwait. “It’s amazing what technology can do that you can bring somebody from Kuwait all the way to Woodbury, Minn., to be present for a delivery," he said.
Woodbury appears to be less thirsty despite scorching heat
The July heat wave is proving the city's water-conservation efforts are working. So far, Woodbury officials tell the Pioneer Press water consumption is million of gallons less than the record set back in July 2007. That's despite the record breaking temperatures and about 6,300 more residents.
