Twin Cities hospitals, nurses ratify 3-year contract

Members of the Minnesota Nurses Association and six Twin Cities hospital systems have ratified a new three-year contract, KARE 11 reports.

The new contract offers nurses a 4.5 percent raise over the three years and takes effect June 1, 2013, and runs through May 31, 2016. The contract covers 11,000 nurses at Allina, Children’s, Fairview, HealthEast, North Memorial and Park Nicollet hospitals.

Twin Cities nurses, hospitals agree to early labor talks

The Minnesota Nurses Association has agreed to hold early contract negotiations with six Twin Cities hospitals, the Associated Press reports. The current contract covers roughly 12,000 union nurses at Allina, Children’s, Fairview, HealthEast, North Memorial and Park Nicollet hospitals. It expires June 1, 2013. Both sides agreed negotiations will be limited to wages only, unless a deal can not be reached by Dec. 25.
