Report: Twin Cities ranks 8th in jobs added

The Business Journal reports the metro ranks 8th in the nation when it comes to the number of jobs added in the last year. Between August of 2010 and August of 2011, the Twin Cities added more than 26,000 jobs. For the record, Houston topped that list, adding 65,00 news jobs.

Southwest High in Minneapolis was the top-ranked Minnesota school in a listing of the nation's 500 best high schools. U.S. News and World Report looked at teacher-student ratios, college readiness, and math and reading skills. Six other Twin Cities-area schools made the list.
