Report: Twin Cities ranks 8th in jobs added

The Business Journal reports the metro ranks 8th in the nation when it comes to the number of jobs added in the last year. Between August of 2010 and August of 2011, the Twin Cities added more than 26,000 jobs. For the record, Houston topped that list, adding 65,00 news jobs.

Twins lose to Kansas City, 10-5

Report indicates recovery in Twin Cities housing market

A new report from the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors says median home prices rose to nearly $180,000 in July, its highest percentage gain in eight years. The report says the 14.3 percent increase over last year's prices came as the number of homes on the market declined and higher-priced traditional sales rose.

Twin Cities ranked best in nation for senior living

The Twin Cities area has been ranked the best place for seniors to live, according to a new survey by Sperling's Best Places. The metro area took the top spot for its progressive medical insurance program and for proximity to the Mayo Clinic.

Best Buy closing 5 stores in Twin Cities

That includes stores in Edina, Brooklyn Center, Hutchinson, Lakeville and Rogers. Best Buy on Thursday announced it would close 50 of its big-box locations in total and lay off 400 corporate and support workers.
