Two bodies have been pulled from lakes in western Minnesota on Friday and Saturday.

A local pilot and a police investigator spotted a body in Little Detroit Lake around 200 yards from the shore near the Detroit Lakes pavilion Friday afternoon, the Associated Press reports.

Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander told the news agency the body was discovered in six feet of water.

WDAY reports that the body is believed to be that of 33-year-old Markus Fales, of Detroit Lakes, who hadn't been seen for about a week.

KVVR notes that some of the man's belongings were found during a search of the beach near the city's park

Then, on Saturday morning, WDAY reports that the body of a 59-year-old man from California was found in Jewett Lake, north of Fergus Falls.

A search effort started after family members heard him fall out of a boat on the lake at around 10 p.m. Friday. He was the only person on the boat at the time and he was not wearing a life vest.

His identity has not yet been released.
