Two men die from gunshot wounds at residence near Leech Lake


Two men have died from gunshot wounds in northern Minnesota following a shooting on Tuesday night.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office reported on Thursday that it was called to the 8700 block of Midway Drive NW near Onigum at 7:18 p.m. to find a 57-year-old man had been shot.

Upon searching the property, near the shore of Leech Lake, officers found the body of a 60-year-old man, who had died from gunshot wounds.

The 57-year-old was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Fargo, where he was later pronounced dead.

No information on the identities of the men nor the circumstances surrounding their deaths has been released at this stage, with police withholding their names for now while they inform their families.

Officers said there is no imminent danger to residents of Cass County.
