The Brown County Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered Friday afternoon at a rural Springfield home, just west of New Ulm.

The victims have been identified as 30-year-old Nathan Scott Potter and 23-year-old Adam Lloyd Philip Jensen, according to WCCO.

Authorities are not saying what caused the deaths, but the Springfield Fire Department was called to the home to ventilate what was believed to be carbon monoxide gas from the residence, reports the New Ulm Journal.

Sheriff's Investigator Leah Krenz said the father of one of men called 911 at about 1:40 p.m. Friday, reports the Associated Press, and the two men, who were roommates, were unresponsive.

KSTP says autopsy results are still pending.
