U of M: Gun scare was attempted robbery; no shots fired

Officials at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus said a gun scare Monday afternoon was the result of an attempted robbery. No shots were fired.

University police said an armed man tried to rob a female student of her laptop in Anderson Hall and then fled into a tunnel system between buildings, the Star Tribune reports. He was still at large, the newspaper reported.

U of M officials had sent a series of tweets over the course of about 45 minutes:

Anderson Hall is on the West Bank. Here's a photo and map.
