The University of Denver Pioneers claimed another national championship on Saturday in their 3-2 win over the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. It's the eighth time the Pioneers have won a national championship.
Jarid Lukosevicius scored a natural hat-trick for Denver in the win.
UMD outshot Denver 17-3 in the final period. Duluth goaltender Hunter Miska made 25 saves in the loss for Duluth.
Both teams are members of the NCHC conference and it's the second straight year the national champion has come out of the NCHC.
It's also the second time in four years that a Minnesota based school made it the national championship game in college hockey.
