University of Minnesota Athletics Director Joel Maturi says he will step down from his post, effective June 30. Hired in 2002, Maturi has been under intense pressure in recent years as the men's football and basketball programs continue to struggle.
Norwood Teague currently directs athletics at Virginia Commonwealth University. He'll be in Minneapolis Monday for interviews with U of M President Eric Kaler and Gopher coaches. A co-chair of the search committee called Teague genuine and authentic with a history of success.
