Oakdale bank evacuated after bomb threat; man arrested

A man who arrived at an Oakdale bank Wednesday on a white motorcycle approached a drive-through window, delivered a bomb threat to a teller and demanded to speak to "federal agents," the Pioneer Press reports. NDSU campus reopens after bomb threat, evacuation

Students at North Dakota State University in Fargo were evacuated Friday morning from classes after a bomb threat was made, the Valley News reports. An emergency message sent to students and posted on the university's website ordered all students and employees to leave campus by 10:15 am. A similar incident was reported at about the same time at the University of Texas at Austin.

Carmike Cinemas target of nationwide bomb threats, including Oakdale

Oakdale police and firefighters have cleared the Carmike Cinemas Oakdale 20 after the Carmike corporate office received a general threat. An Oakdale Community Affairs Officer tells the Woodbury Patch, "There was no specific location or time frame given. The police department did not receive credible information that the threat was specific to Oakdale."

U.S. Bank latest bank to raise overdraft fees

U.S. Bank is bumping up overdraft fees for all its accounts beginning June 29, the Minneapolis-based bank confirmed Wednesday. The bank's new $35 overdraft fee brings it in line with the country's biggest financial institutions, including Bank of America, Huffington Post reports. Bank officials note that the 15 million-customer bank is eliminating one other fee and lowering yet another.

Feds close Minnesota bank

The FDIC shutdown Patriot Bank in Forest Lake Friday. First Resource Bank in Savage agreed to take over the assets and deposits from the failed Minnesota bank. There have been seven U.S. bank failures in 2012. Patriot Bank is the first to fail in Minnesota this year.
