Minnesota is home to another Guinness World Record.

Pillsbury held a cooking decorating event at Mall of America Saturday, where people iced 1,169 cookies in 60 minutes – that's 19 cookies per minute, the Taste of General Mills Blog says.

That pace was good enough to set the world record for the "most cookies/biscuits iced in one hour" and bested the company's goal of decorating 500 cookies in an hour, Pillsbury notes.

An official with Guinness World Records oversaw the record-breaking attempt to make sure everything was official. Philip Robertson, of Guinness World Records, told the General Mills blog he checked to make sure the ingredients for the icing contained sugar, the cookies were the right shape and size, and that they looked like they were iced correctly.

He also counted the cookies.

Saturday's event also marked the first annual "National Cookie Decorating Day" – which Pillsbury says will be celebrated the second Saturday of December from now on. The day is meant to encourage shoppers to take a break during the holiday season and make some memories.

Pillsbury says it hopes to break its own record next December.
