Update: The bull that led police on a chase in New York City has died
A bull that ran away from a slaughterhouse led police on a chase through Queens in New York City on Tuesday.
ABC 7 says the pursuit started around 11 a.m. eastern time, and police quickly cornered the animal. But it broke free again and ran loose for more than an hour before it was finally taken into custody.
The news station said a crew from an animal sanctuary was coming to get the bull.
But about three hours after the bull was captured, the animal died, NBC in New York said. A cause of death wasn't immediately clear, but the news station noted the animal was seen with at least a dozen tranquilizer darts in its side during the miles-long chase.
Here's some video of the bull running through the streets:
No one was injured during the pursuit, according to reports, but the bull did go after a few people during his escape:
Oh, and the bull already has its own Twitter account.
