The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. Saturday near 7200 Washburn Ave South, which is close to Adams Hill Park. The police department said officers were responding to a “suspicious person” call, and pulled over a vehicle in connection with the call.
The young man shown in the video, 19-year-old Kamal Gelle, said he was pulled over and given a citation for careless driving, according to the Associated Press.
The Somali Human Rights Commission, a local civil rights group, is asking Richfield police officials for a meeting to discuss the incident, the AP says.
