Video: The cat who was paralyzed by a BB gun gets a new set of wheels

Without the wheelchair, BeBe can only stand for about 2 seconds.

BeBe the cat was paralyzed this spring after being shot with a BB gun, but now she's getting around pretty well on her new set of wheels.

BeBe has been cared for by CATS Cradle Shelter since April, and in a post on Facebook Thursday, the shelter said she "motored around with so much joy" after getting her wheelchair. Here's some video of her wheeling around (watch more videos here):

BeBe was found on Minnesota's White Earth reservation dragging her back legs, with vets at the time calling the incident a “deliberate act of cruelty designed not to kill, but to cause maximum pain and suffering." A BB was in her spine and she suffered a serious infection.

The shelter raised money to pay for the wheelchair, which will help give BeBe balance. According to the fundraising site, physical therapy had helped BeBe regain the ability to stand, but only for about 2 seconds.

"Despite her limitations, she is one of the happiest and most loving kitties ever," the shelter said in a Facebook post earlier this month.

Now, that BeBe has the wheelchair, CATS Cradle hopes it'll help her get "motivated, mobile and build strength in those back legs," noting the veterinarian says BeBe has already started to use her feet.
