Minnesota's State Patrol appealed for caution on the roads during this week's whiteout conditions, and have released a video to show you why.
Four of its troopers were involved in collisions while attending crash scenes during the blizzard that hit the Twin Cities and large areas of Greater Minnesota on Thursday.
And they have released dash cam footage from two of those collisions – in Edina and Virginia – showing the conditions that caused other drivers to lose control and crash into squad cars.
In the Virginia crash, the trooper is at the front of their car when they notice a silver car approaching, running out of the way just as his vehicle is hit.
The video, which you can see below, also features footage from Marshall, showing how bad the conditions were during Thursday's blizzard.
There were 855 crashes reported in the 24 hours from 11.30 a.m. Thursday.
