A scammer posing as an IRS agent made the wrong choice when they called Kyle Roder, because he's an Eau Claire police officer who specializes in telephone fraud.

After being told police would come to arrest him if he didn't hand over his personal details, Roder called the scammer back to get some more information about this supposed threat.

His fellow officer Don Henning caught the exchange on camera as the scammer gets more and more tangled up in his own lies, and the video has been viewed more than 4 million times on Facebook as of Friday morning.

Roder quietly laughs and gives the thumbs up to the camera – with Henning at one point pretending to handcuff him as the exchange unfolds.

The high point is when the scammer gives his name as Officer James Maxwell, only to change it a minute later to James Johnson, and then James Maxwell Johnson.

Watch it here.

Officer Roder received an urgent phone call from the IRS on his cell phone this morning. He was told he was going to be arrested if he did not call back right away! So... we called them back. Officer Roder used his interrogation skills to scam the scammer. See what happened! (He is a trained professional -- do not try this at home.)
