Video, photos: Amazing shots of the northern lights from across Minnesota
Those who stayed up late got a spectacular showing of the northern lights in Minnesota late Monday and early Tuesday.
People near the Twin Cities even got a chance to see the dazzling display that lit up the night sky.
Chad Halvörson – you may remember him as the photographer who captured the beauty of Minnesota summers in a time-lapse video last year – was about 20-30 minutes north of the Twin Cities when he captured the following video:

The "unusually strong" showing of the aurora borealis occurred when eruptions triggered a severe geomagnetic storm over the weekend, the Washington Post explains.
