Video: School bus smashes into yard to avoid hitting another school bus

The crash happened just yards away from another collision.

There was drama in south Minneapolis on Thursday, as a school bus plowed into a front yards just seconds after another car crash happened a few feet down the road.

The school bus' spectacular crash at Bloomington Avenue South and 24th Street was captured on video by Nancy Flores, who uploaded it to Facebook with the understated description: "South mpls is something else."

Flores had started recording because another crash had just taken place. Her footage shows a pickup truck T-boned on the hood of a minivan.

But as she filmed, a school bus came hurtling by and was heading straight for another school bus parked up ahead, with another car approaching in the oncoming lane.

Swerving to avoid a collision, the driver mounted the curb and smashed through a front yard.

FOX 9 reports the buses didn't have any children on board. The driver of the crashed bus may have sustained a slight chest injury.

CenterPoint technicians were also sent to the scene to check the damage, as the bus may have struck a gas meter, the TV station notes.
