That video above was captured in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
It shows (briefly) a car plowing through a sign at what looks like a very, very high speed – right in front of the Pewaukee Village Hall and police department.
It actually happened back on Aug. 26, according to the police report, on a road with a 25 mph speed limit.
The vehicle was going at an "extremely high rate of speed," the report says, and crossed from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane. It then jumped the curb, traveled over the sidewalk onto the front lawns of residences – then crossed over a walkway and sped in front of the Pewaukee Village Hall/police department building.
The vehicle went airborne, then struck a tax and accounting building before stopping. The car hit two fences, a tree, and an overhead sign post, the police report says.
The driver, a 35-year-old from Ixonia, suffered an "incapacitating injury," was partially ejected from the vehicle and had to be extricated, the report says.
He was tested for alcohol and drugs, but whether they were present or a factor isn't known, according to the report.
The Waukesha County District Attorney's Office told BringMeTheNews no charges have been filed at this point in connection with the incident, but that the case is under review.
