Last year, Rosedale Center revealed plans for a major expansion that would bring a new anchor tenant to the mall in Roseville.

Well, that anchor has been revealed as Von Maur.

The Iowa-based department store will open only its second store in Minnesota at the mall in 2018, the other being at Ridgedale Center, Finance & Commerce reports.

The website reports it will take a spot between JC Penney and the AMC movie theater, on a plot that is currently a surface parking lot but will become an extension complete with a new, two-level parking ramp.

KARE 11 reports the company plans to hire around 200 workers to staff the new store – most of them full-time.

Construction on the expansion is expected to begin in spring 2017, with a view to the store opening in fall 2018.

"As one of the top-ranked regional malls in the market, Rosedale Center is a great location for us to expand our brand in Minnesota," Von Maur president Jim von Maur told the Pioneer Press. "Its central location allows shoppers from the Twin Cities and beyond to have access to the high-end fashion and signature customer service Von Maur offers."
