Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are exploring legal options to help clear the internet of nude photos that were hacked from Vonn's phone, according to according to TMZ.

In a statement to Us Weekly, Vonn's publicist called the situation an "outrageous and despicable invasion of privacy and Vonn will take legal action against those "responsible for hacking her private photos as well as the websites that encourage this detestable conduct."

Woods has already hired an attorney to help get the photos off the internet, TMZ says.

But as legal experts told USA Today, First Amendment rights make it difficult to punish websites for sharing leaked photos, and it's rare to find the responsible hacker(s).

One such case where the hackers were identified was in 2014 when two men were sentenced to prison for stealing private photos from more than 500 celebrities, including actress Jennifer Lawrence, model Kate Upton and soccer star Hope Solo.

Woods and Vonn started dating in 2012 then broke up in 2015
