There were more cold feet than usual at a vow renewal ceremony in Rochester on Valentine's Day, as two couples took the plunge ... literally.
In a special ceremony conducted by Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede, both Hiyas and Scott Quelle, and Jennifer and Joseph Reynolds renewed their commitment to each other before celebrating by taking part in the annual Polar Plunge, ABC 6 reports
The couples braved the frigid conditions to dive into the water at Foster Arends Park moments after tucking into champagne and cake in front of friends and family.
They took part in the 14th Polar Plunge held in the city, which each year is organized by Special Olympics Minnesota.
The two couples were among more than 800 people who dove into the icy waters on Saturday afternoon, according to KTIV.

Unfortunately for them, they were taking part on what was predicted to be the coldest Valentine's Day in 73 years in Minnesota.
With wind chills dropping to 20 below, it was so cold that organizers had offered participants the chance to take the jump a day earlier, according to the Polar Plunge website.
