A 17-year-old high schooler from Wadena was killed in a crash Friday afternoon.

The Wadena County Sheriff's Office announced that Samuel Scott Kelderman died when he lost control of his 2006 Chevy Impala southbound on Leaf River Road at 4:26 p.m.

His car collided with a 2011 Ford F150 coming in the other direction, driven by a 40-year-old from Menahga, with Kelderman's Impala ending up in a ditch on the east side of the road.

He was taken to the Tri County Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Ford driver and his two passengers were treated at the scene and didn't suffer serious injuries
