It was a preview of Black Friday at some metro-area Target stores Thursday morning, where bundled-up music lovers lined up outside in sub-freezing temperatures so they could get their hands on the perennially popular Cities 97 Sampler.
The sampler, which features tracks from artists The 1975, Ingrid Michaelson, Ed Sheeran, Echosmith and Bleachers, among others, is only available at Target at a price of $25.97 – sales are expected to raise $910,000 for local charities, the Star Tribune reported.
Some people waited in line for hours. Most Target locations open at 8 a.m.
